Writing About Things Worth Writing About

Mark Twain said: "Write what you know."  While some writers might disagree, Twain's advice has been central to the several books you will find here.  Dan Carlson is a retired police officer and law enforcement educator, whose experiences have provided a wealth of ideas and information to stimulate sitting down at the keyboard.  In his works available here, Dan discusses his experiences at the 1969 Woodstock Festival ... his journey to becoming a survivor of Prostate Cancer ... and the process by which he and his wife, Bonnie,  "Rightsized" their lives after more than fifty years of marriage.

Excellent Stories

I've had the pleasure of reading a couple of Dan Carlson's book and thoroughly enjoy his writing. His account of his time as a police officer at Woodstock is such a unique perspective of a time immortalized in history. I've also heard Dan speak to a group about his Woodstock book and he was very engaging, witty, and fun to interact with! His wife Bonnie is also delightful which is a nice bonus!!!
